Short answer: Clean the bites, avoid scratching to reduce infection risk, use a cold compress for itching, and vacuum frequently in the meantime. Vacuuming will not solve a flea problem alone, but it does reduce numbers until treatment day.

Treating the bites themselves
Clean the bite area gently, apply a cold compress to ease the itch, and try to avoid scratching, which raises the risk of the bite becoming infected. Over the counter itch relief can help in the meantime if needed.
Reducing numbers before treatment day
Frequent vacuuming, particularly in carpet, on rugs, and around pet bedding, genuinely helps reduce flea numbers while you wait. It will not solve an active infestation on its own, but it does make a real difference.
What not to do
Avoid trying random home remedies or excessive product use before the licensed technician arrives, since some can interfere with the treatment itself. It is better to manage symptoms and let the professional treatment do the actual work.

A licensed technician treats the property using an appropriate product and method for fleas. We will explain exactly what to expect on the day, including any timing around when you can return to treated areas.
